Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with strong bases, like Titans from eth, have no changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in several fundamental ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item can only be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials required do not.
