Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player must select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the element or material required to make that happen.

There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type restriction. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of item names. For example adding a Glyph will transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools If a player replaces one glyph with a different one, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they are "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials needed do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of those items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This allows the item to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to be given affixes that increase its features. The number of affixes available depends on the item's base. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will have no more than two affixes available for it and legendary armors can have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade process requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is placed in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not get to its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower chance of success.

Engineers use a level in order to compare the height of the building against an established location, such as an existing benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level and then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item upgrader kit. It is a very important aspect of the game and can improve the damage, strength, or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be done in rare cases.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them easier to roll. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than others. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This could be good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.

The game also includes number sets that give a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on a unit. This is a great method of giving the character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. This is because rerolling can offer a quicker route to becoming a strong character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They could be of various sizes, have no elements, or contain one element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of set items that can be upgraded. Some items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense values and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.

Certain set items are upgraded for their own unique functions that can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to parity with the levels. For instance, the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the upgrade item button will display the item's attributes and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

Generally speaking, weapons and jewelry offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial improvement in their stats. This will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated look.
