The item upgrade allows players to boost an item's gear rating up 700 points and also add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to boost their effectiveness. This can boost the defense of a helm or chest while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain after upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.

A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button that has circling arrows in the item upgrader menu. The item level upgrade will be rerolled and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.

Armor

In general, the greater defense your character has the more value you get from every point of health you possess and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as you can.

To upgrade your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and to unlock them all, you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to stay ahead in cold environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you're able to survive a battle with your comrades.

You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or spell power. Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new one. It is possible to upgrade the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the old trinket, but it also comes with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded once they are no longer needed, allowing a player to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an extremely popular alternative to gold.

Players must upgrade their most valuable items first.
