How To Explain Item Upgrade To Your Boss
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with each upgrade.
Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item upgrade, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show the preview of an item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.
Upgraders for items can be found in many places on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less, even in the event that they are part of another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade items. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item upgrader mod level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an Item level upgrade upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another significant modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them wisely. It is Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
