Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features that can improve security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump features.

A euro cylinder needs to be measured accurately to ensure it's the right size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to each end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. If you are unable measure it using the lock in a fixed position, you can take it out of it. It is important to not have a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

The design of most newer cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a new direction. This can help stop the attack and keep your doors safe.

Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. This is a lot faster and more straightforward than opening a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a break-in which could hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned within the base of the door handle for double glazed window backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution that returns the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after use. Previously a lot of these types of handle did not have a spring integrated into them and without this they can droop or 'drop' once the locking mechanism is removed.
