Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide In Item Upgrades
Path of Exile Item Upgrades
Best item upgrade upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Rare-grade equipment can be superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment due to their high demands.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a form of upgrade that can be used on weapon and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item that they're attached to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of games and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. Alternately, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components inside them, with a professional or higher salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it will absorb. The absorption of damage by an armor piece will increase when it's upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it should be heavier.
There are several different types of armor upgrades available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. Some upgrades give armor an extra amount of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The kind of armor upgrade an item can get will be identified by the name of the upgrade, as indicated in the table below.
Some of the upgrades also require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which is indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades require charges to use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades change daily or never expire dependent on the upgrade.
The cheapest way to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be obtained through exploring the surroundings and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more costly, but is readily available at the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high level armor pieces. These upgrades can give players a significant boost in stats, and are worth the investment.
The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade level can increase its defense values. However, it will also affect the speed and agility of the piece. This is why it is typically not recommended to upgrade armor pieces beyond +9, because the increase in defense is typically not worth the additional weight and power cost of the improvements required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of the weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Some weapons also have special upgrades that improve their innate qualities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).
Most weapon upgrades require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade. These can be gained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.
Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars required to complete it. The cost of upgrades will be lower if have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your weapon and equipment sets was a bit different. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could continue to do this until you reached a maximum upgrade level for the weapon or equipment, after which the upgrades would reset.
This is still possible, but it depends heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off going to the stores and buying gear that has low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These items have a higher likelihood of granting you highest tier advantages and benefits.
To increase their level faster, most players will prioritize upgrading their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their teammates use to boost their strength. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used in conjunction by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to boost a stat or provide secondary effects in weapons and armor. They can be created through an process known as jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gemstone and several ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the quality of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents are obtained in the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.
The Jeweler can improve the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ depending on the level the jewel is at when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons, or equipment.
All tiers of jewels can be made at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a certain level to be able to get these. Jewels can be replaced with another one without damaging the original. You are able to replace the jewel once within an item upgrader kit of equipment.
It is normal to use more jewelry for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and make a harder surface than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to them.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the look of your shields and weapons. These are a small perk and can be swapped freely but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components like aegis or traits cannot be exchanged, and can only be retrieved with an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets are items of equipment that bestow many small, but beneficial benefits to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the areas of starting as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, or by performing road interactions. They can also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased from the Trading Post.
The first trinkets a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which gives a small but useful bonus to speed of movement and the ability to escape. After that, they can get amulets, rings, and necklaces in a similar manner to the way a player can acquire weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be put into any kind of equipment while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded and only works with specific types of trinkets.
These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't fighting. This allows the hero to perform better when they are not active and may also help fill in the void of a strong team or any talent tree slots which would normally be filled with hero's ideal stats.
As a general rule trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best item upgrade in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace in the near future. Also, consider items that have desirable statistics aren't as significant as the iLevel of the item upgrader kit upgrade [visit my home page] that is to be upgraded. This is particularly true if an item has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade as it's often more beneficial to upgrade one important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.
Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one prior to the beginning of the game. Top and mid players however, will choose either a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices will have an impact on the hero's ability to manage the map.
Apart from the things mentioned above, players may also find other trinkets throughout the game in the form of awards and trophies. They can be earned through completing certain milestones in the story, for instance completing a chapter's main quest or killing a particular boss. They can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
