Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or additional effect when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or gotten from chests or missions. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item upgrader kit in the game, players will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their name to the end of the name of the item upgrade they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph the old one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item upgrader mod - clicking here, can be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level up however the materials required aren't as high. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a couple of essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across several pieces.

Once an item has been completed, it will be able to receive an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy, and it resets to 0 on failure or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

After a piece has been upgraded to its highest level, it is able to get the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes that are available depends on the type of item it is. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and in what slot it is located in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item is not able to get to its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.

To determine the height of a structure engineers utilize an instrument to compare the measurement with an established reference point, such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the level and backsight rod before turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item level upgrade. It is an essential element of the game, and it can increase the strength, damage or other characteristics. This can be done via the item menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be done sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to earn reroll tokens. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than other items. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for all stats. This could be good or bad, depending on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.

The game also has a number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an item level upgrade. This is a great method to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They can be different sizes, contain no elements, or contain one element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

There are a range of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you already have a lot of armor or weapons already.

Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own special functions that can be useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into parity with their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general, armor and weapons have higher value when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. This will also boost the defense of armor with an updated appearance.
