1. Engine Speed Sensor

The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate the flow of fuel, timig and boost. It also sends an indication to the G5 Tachometer within the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used to correlate the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft has reached TDC, and the location of the camshaft so that it can activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is not in sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of the possibility of a chain stretch or jumpy chain link in the upper chain. However the code will not be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

It is a little tricky to test because there are different pins on the connector and each one has different functions. 2. Injectors

Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at maximum speed I noticed a massive drop in power. It was like the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. This morning i pull out the spark plugs. Three were drenched in gazoline, the fourth one was dry. I put tissue over each hole in the injector and when i start the engine with no sparks, the ones with gazoline jump right out. The fourth one remains shut. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55/30/55/48/55/14/55/48/ I got 0ohm. So i assume the problem is in another place.

I also tried to reset the PID but without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it works fine when the G28 plugged in. However, the intermittent misfire problem continues to occur at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for the coolant (G62) shows the wrong temp value -49c, even if I unplug it. Also, i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit is showing 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 if i crank up the engine.

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor.
