A special item can be used to evolve specific Pokemon. The Upgrade can be obtained by spinning a PokeStop's photo disc and is sometimes given as a reward at Pokemon GO events.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools in order to add attribute bonuses or other effects when the equipment is being used. Upgrade components can only be used on equipment that has an upgrade slot available. Most upgrade components also require that the item to be upgraded is above a specific level. Some upgrade items also have special effects when they are added to an equipment piece. Upgrade components can be obtained by crafting, purchased by karma merchants or traded with other players via the Trading Post. They can also be rescued from equipment and received as rewards.

A variety of upgrade components are available, each offering various bonuses. Universal upgrades, which include gems and inscriptions, can be used on any kind of equipment; they provide smaller bonuses than other types of upgrade components. Infusions can be utilized on legendary and non-amulet items, while enhancements can be utilized on certain back equipment that has been ascended. The majority of upgrade components can be replaced if they are slotted into an item upgrader mod, however doing so can destroy the previous upgrade. The only exceptions are glyphs which can only be used in gathering tools, and enchantments. Both are able to be removed and replaced.

Glyphs

Once a Glyph has reached the desired level you can activate it. Select it and click the "enchant button". The resulting glyph will offer its stated bonus and will increase the number of nodes in its radius on the Paragon Board. Glyphs should be placed where they will benefit your building the most. This is why you should prioritise Magic Glyphs as soon as possible. Rare glyphs can also provide double bonuses when certain conditions are fulfilled.

Click the cycle widget to change the perspective of the Glyphs Panel. Each of these views displays the Glyphs in a different font. You can narrow down the selection of glyphs by choosing an option beneath "Entire Font". For example, punctuation only displays punctuation glyphs. Rerolling
